Gajan Gugendiran
As a Sri Lankan-Tamilian psychotherapist who immigrated from Germany to the United States, I recognize the delicate balance between embracing new cultural norms and preserving the values of your native culture. Being a Third Culture Kid has shaped my process of helping individuals, couples, and parents develop an identity that resonates with who they are underneath life’s transitions.
I offer a blend of emotion-focused, cognitive behavioral and somatic approaches to foster lasting emotional healing. Together, we will navigate and reconcile the often conflicting thoughts and feelings that arise from living in-between cultures and emotional experiences. With gentleness and directness, we will resolve your loneliness, alleviate anxiety, build meaningful connections, and deepen your sense of belonging.
Let’s join together to work through the immediate and deep-rooted concerns that keep you stuck, while empowering you with meaningful strategies that ensure ongoing progress.
*In addition to English, I can speak Tamil.
